  • Led negotiations and due diligence for the acquisition of two key regional media institutions (circulation 100,000). Managed successful operational transitions, personally assembled editorial/production team and managed rapid cash flow positivity.

  • Orchestrated an overhaul of content strategy for both publishing titles, guiding a multidisciplinary staff to execute on organizational vision.

  • Led successful closing effort to establish a community benefit district in San Francisco’s Financial District, creating a $4M annual revenue stream to provide for public safety, quality-of-life improvements and placemaking activities in the West Coast’s most important business district.

  • Launched and orchestrated the Citizen Editorial Board Project, a media transparency project involving 11 major Bay Area news organizations. Recruited civic leaders to participate, provided support and guidance to appointees and participated regularly in editorial board meetings. Adjusted strategy regularly to accommodate changing media landscape.

  • Negotiated first-of-its-kind 35-year ground lease on behalf of a prominent East Bay charter school established by Governor Jerry Brown.

  • Conceived and executed brand overhaul initiative for corporate umbrella. Oversaw ideation and production of digital and physical assets in support.

  • Directed design and development of seven separate Web properties.

  • In addition to corporate executive responsibilities, served as executive editor of the Nob Hill Gazette and Gentry magazine, shaping the titles’ editorial direction, voice, structure and mission across all platforms.

  • Wrote and edited op-eds, speeches, press releases, newsletters, blog posts, talking points, briefing papers, ad copy and marketing collateral.

  • Conceived and executed award-winning environmental design and brand concept for “Credo,” a Michelin-recommended San Francisco restaurant.
